    Scan the receipt

    Point your camera at the receipt, or import a photo. BillSplitter reads every line, the service charge and the total, and checks they add up.

    Invite the table

    Add the friends you ate with. Anyone without the app gets a guest link that opens the bill in their browser.

    Claim what you had

    Tap your items and they leave the table. Three lagers stay three lagers, and your running tab updates as you go.

How do I split a restaurant bill with BillSplitter?

Scan the receipt with your phone. BillSplitter turns every line into an item your friends can claim, splits shared dishes between the people who had them, and shows each person exactly what they owe, including service and tip.

Do my friends need to download the app?

No. Send a short-lived guest link and friends can open the bill in their browser, enter their name, claim their items and see their total without installing anything.

Can we split shared dishes like a pizza or a bottle of wine?

Yes. Tap Split on any item and choose who shared it. BillSplitter divides it equally by default, and you can also split by custom amounts.

What about tips, service charges, VAT and discounts?

BillSplitter reads them from the receipt, lets you correct anything before friends join, and spreads them fairly across everyone’s share, so the totals always match the receipt.

Does BillSplitter handle the payment itself?

BillSplitter tracks who has paid and lets the organiser send gentle reminders. In-app payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay are planned for a later release.
